"This is the first vintage of the Chablis “Le Bas de Chapelôt” from Patrick Piuze. It is made from a 1.9 hectare parcel of forty-plus year-old vines and has turned out excellently in its debut vintage. The wine’s nose is bright and complex, offering up scents of pear, tart orange, anise, a lovely base of chalky soil tones, citrus zest and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a good core of fruit, fine soil signature and grip and a long, poised and zesty finish. A lovely new addition to the lineup."
