Chablis Grand Cru Bougros

France
Burgundy
2023

From vines planted in 1956 that are located on the plateau. Fermented and aged in neutral barrels. This site tends to give wines that are rich and bold. Patrick has learned over the years how to work with the site, taming the richness and getting nice grapefruit pith notes to balance the wine. It’s a thrilling mix of contrasts between lush fruit and mineral back bone.

"Patrick Piuze’s 2023 Bougros is a superb bottle in the making. The wine offers up a deep, nicely ripe and complex bouquet of pear, tangerine, lemon, chalky soil tones, a touch of anise, dried flowers and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is bright, deep and full-bodied, with a superb core of fruit, lovely complexity, a fine spine of acidity and excellent length on the precise and impeccably balanced finish."
