"The 2021 Wintricher Geierslay Riesling "GW" is bright and intense as well as complex and pure on the precise and citric nose. From blue-purple colored slate and quartzite soils, this is a round and elegant, pretty charming and yeasty-textured old-vines Riesling that fermented slowly, with the malolactic fermentation included. The finish reveals serious phenolic grip and bitterness; its character is quite rich and powerful without being fat or boring. I would cellar it for another 4 or 5 years due to its intensity and phenolics. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023."
