"In this day and age, all of the premier crus in Pommard are underrated, but one of the finest in the commune and the least well-respected is les Pézerolles. These old vines have excelled at Domaine Voillot in 2022, with the wine delivering great precision in its complex and pure bouquet of red and black cherries, plums, a hint of pomegranate, gamebird, cocoa powder, gorgeous soil tones, peonies and a hint of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and transparent down to its soil tones, with a great core of fruit, bright acids, fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance on the long, complex and very classy finish. This will need plenty of hibernation time in the cellar to soften up, but it is going to be a stunning bottle of wine in due course."
