"The 2022 Volnay “les Fremiets” from Domaine Joseph Voillot is another impeccably balanced example of the vintage, again coming in at thirteen percent alcohol. The bouquet is pure, precise and nicely black fruity in personality, wafting from the glass in a mix of cassis, dark berries, coffee bean, a lovely foundation of dark soil tones, gamebird, fresh thyme, a gentle framing of cedar and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, transparent and beautifully proportioned, with a fine core of black fruit, excellent soil signature, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, tangy, complex and focused finish. This is an excellent bottle of Volnay"
