100% Montepulciano from a 0.5ha parcel planted in 1985, facing west at 250m, on silty clay with gypsum outcroppings.  The grapes are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel with a brief maceration of 3-4 days. Aging occurs in stainless steel and used barriques, about half/half. 

Rather than offer a Montepulciano that is overwrought with color, structure, and alcohol, Ca'Liptra prefers to showcase this vineyard with a lighter, thirst-quenching wine that can be drunk in all seasons. Consider that Montepulciano is at its northern reaches here, so Ca'Liptra is presenting its "Nordic" version. 1500 bottles produced.  Amistà is a literary form of amicizia, meaning friendship.
