Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru

France
Burgundy
2020

This vineyard is located at the very top of the Latricières apellation. Bordered by woods on three sides, with a very rocky soil, this half-hectare vineyard produces fresh, mineral wines. The block is divided in two parts, an old one of about 60 years old and a younger part which is about 25 years old.  100% whole cluster fermentation.

"The 2020 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru was cropped at a derisory seven hectoliters per hectare, and yet, the wine remains remarkably classically proportioned, without the compact profile and exaggerated concentration that vineyards cropped at such low yields can often produce. Mingling aromas of cherries, raspberries and plums with hints of sweet spices, rose petals and creamy oak, it's full-bodied, layered and sensual, with a deep, enveloping mid-palate, tangy acids and a long, mineral finish. This is Lachaux's finest Latricières to date."
