Ehrenfelser (69%) and Kerner (31%) from the Satori Springs Vineyard, located near Oregon City in the Willamette Valley. This site is dry-farmed without herbicides and is certified LIVE Sustainable. Mike Hinds sources fruit from this vineyard for both Lionesses and Failed Empires, with the Ehrenfelser and Kerner growing on the upper slope in Jory soils. The fruit was crushed and soaked on skins for 20 hours before pressing for fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak. Matured for nine months on lees before bottling, unfined and unfiltered. 12.2% abv.
