Pinot Noir "Jardin d'Eden"

France
Alsace
2022

An outstanding, limited Pinot Noir, from an exceptional limestone plot in Sigolsheim that sits just next to the grand cru Mambourg. Charles recently planted Pinot here, using grafts from the Clos des Epeneaux vineyard in Burgundy. He planted densely one vine per every meter and he plows by horse. In 2019, the wine was made with 100% whole clusters. Hand harvested, fermented with native yeasts and aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

"Complex, youthful nose of flint and raw meat with notes of dried strawberries and wet leaves, the fruit expanding as the wine aerates. Stunning concentration with plenty of fine tannins that are already beautifully integrated. The crescendo finish is at once powerful and lively. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification."
