"The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques ler Cru, like the Cazetiers is reduced to one single (used) barrel. The bouquet is airy and perfumed, beautifully defined with seamlessly integrated wood. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, sensual and harmonious with a poised, sorbet-fresh, quite mineral-driven finish. A magnificent 2021 from Amelie Berthaut. "

" A subtle though discernible suggestion of wood surrounds the cool and very fresh nose of wild red berries, newly turned earth and plenty of forest floor character. As one would reasonably expect, there is both excellent volume and punch to the bigger-bodied flavors that possess a taut muscularity on the powerful, linear and chiseled finish. This moderately austere effort is packed with potential and is a wine that’s going to require extended patience to add flesh as well as complexity."

"There's only one barrel of the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine evocative of plums and orange zest framed by a touch of toasty oak. Built around a bright spine of acidity, it concludes with a precise, saline finish."
