"The Viognier “Contours de Deponcins” from François Villard is made from his younger vines in his vineyards in Condrieu. The 2022 version tips the scales at a very svelte 12.5 percent alcohol and offers up a beautifully vibrant and precise nose of pear, musk melon, passion fruit, stony soil tones, a touch of orange zest and a topnote of honeysuckle. On the palate the wine is bright, fullish and complex, with a respectable depth of fruit at the core, lovely soil undertow, zesty acids and lovely balance and grip on the nicely precise finish. This is really good wine and is better than many an example of Condrieu out there at high octane levels! A great value."
