From 40+ year-old, mainly ungrafted vines on gray slate in the main part of the VDP. Grosse Lage, Pündericher Marienburg, the flagship vineyard of the estate.
From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt and Demeter certification.

From the estate:  "This vineyard is located on the opposite bank of the Moselle river to Pünderich. It is south to southeast facing. This VDP.GROSSE LAGE was enlarged by the German wine law around 1970. The original plot is directly underneath the old monastery Marienburg. We source our grapes for the Marienburg GG solely from this section. The grey slate is dominating the soil. Exclusively the healthiest and ripest grapes get handpicked. After a few hours of skin maceration, the grapes get pressed very gently, they mature on their lees in old Fuder for at least 10 to 11 months. The wines are spontaneously fermented, as we treat all our wines with the lowest intervention possible.
