Fossil & Fawn's homage to Passetoutgrains, 'Dark Wave' is a blend of equal parts Gamay and Pinot Noir from Marin Estate Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of the Willamette Valley. Marin Estate is operated and farmed by Javier Marin and his two sons, who are known for farming many of the top sites in the area. The soils at Marin are volcanic in origin, and the site is dry-farmed without the use of artificial herbicides or pesticides. The fruit was co-fermented with 100% whole clusters, and matured for 10-months in a mix of neutral French and Oregon oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 13% abv.
