Blaufränkisch Eisenberg "Béla Jóska"

Austria
Südburgenland
2021

The winery named this Blaufränkisch after family fathers Béla Wachter and Jóska Wiesler; the fruit is from each family's vineyards in Deutsch-Schützen and Eisenberg. The vines average between thirty and fifty years old. Aged for thirteen months in large wooden barrels (500 – 3000 liters).

"This is slightly reductive, with notes of black olive and bay leaf, followed by cherry and hibiscus tea notes. It's medium-bodied and well defined, with nice vibrancy coming from the acidity. Light tannins emerge on the finish."
