Bianco Colli Tortonesi

Italy
Piedmont
2023

Sourced from all of the estate's parcels, as each plot has at least some white grapes in it. Vineyards were planted between 1959 and 1999 at 6,000 plants/ha.  In 2018, the blend is essentially equal parts Cortese, Favorita, and Timorasso, with trace elements of Moscato Bianco and Giallo.   Aside from the Timorasso, which was harvest and vinified separately, this is a field blend, with the other varieties harvested and fermented together as each vineyard parcel was deemed ready.  Harvest was between September 11-17 at yields of 6,200 kg/hectare (around 43 hl/ha). The grapes were whole-cluster pressed (no maceration) and spontaneously fermented in concrete and stainless steel vats with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation did take place. Aging was also in concrete and stainless, for six months on the lees.
