Matthew Krueger
After a childhood in Baltimore with absolutely no exposure to wine and the hospitality business, Matthew moved to New York to study Western European international relations. He quickly realized a supplemental source of income is essential while studying in the city, and found himself a job bartending in a small Italian wine bar in the East Village. The combination of French studies and restaurant work led to a developing fascination with wine in all of its glorious forms. This passion grew through college and culminated post-graduation with an offer to work as a sommelier at the opening of Bar Boulud.
In the 8 years that followed Matthew worked in many roles in the wine and spirits industry: sommelier at Clo and Veritas under Tim Kopec, head bartender at the Elm and Betony, beverage director at the Mark by Jean-Georges and Bowery Meat Company, and fine wine specialist at Frederick Wildman & Sons. Matthew started with David Bowler in August of 2017 as a sales representative for Brooklyn and Manhattan.
When not drinking, studying, or selling wine and spirits, Matthew enjoys home brewing beer, cooking, cycling, listening to post-punk and metal, making a fool of himself, board games, and building things with his hands.
