Kevin Tunney
A resident of the east end of Long Island, I came into the wine business by way of a 16 year career within restaurants. It’s true, I am native of New Jersey, having spent 7 years with the Harvest Restaurant Group as bartender and later beverage manager in several locations. While working in restaurants such as Huntley Tavern and 3 West, I developed a passion for domestic wines, particularly smaller, boutique producers.
After 7 years with one restaurant group, the opportunity came along to relocate to the Hamptons of Long Island. After a well learned stint with the renowned east end restaurant, North Fork Table and Inn, I took the position as beverage manager/ bartender with Almond Bistro in Bridgehampton. Here I truly began to turn my attention across the pond to France for wine appreciation. After three years at Almond and with the addition of young children into my life, a move over to the wine business seemed natural.
It was a particularly fortunate move that I ended up with Bowler Wines. Here I continue to constantly learn and explore this great passion for the vine.
When not peddling remarkable wines with great stories, I spend lots of time with my family. A quality evening is spent cooking a great meal, building the perfect fire, and cranking The Clash over a bottle of Beaujolais. I also love baseball and wait all winter long for pitchers and catchers to report, sad, but true.
