"Assembled from old-vine Grenache and Mourvèdre grown in several sandy lieux-dits, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige Tres Vieilles Vignes is a solid effort—perhaps the best I've tasted from this traditional producer. Blackberries and plums are joined by asphalt and licorice, while the full-bodied palate is concentrated, firm but ripe, with a softly dusty, long, licorice-tinged finish. It should drink well for at least a decade.
