"The 2022 Galets Rouges bottling from Mourgues du Grès is an excellent wine, coming in at an even fourteen percent octane and offering up impressive complexity on both the nose and palate. The cépages here is sixty percent syrah, thirty percent grenache and five percent each of mourvèdre and marselan. The bouquet is deep, meaty and black fruity, wafting from the glass in a mix of cassis, hung game, woodsmoke, coffee bean, dark soil tones, pepper and garrigue. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and ripely tannic, with fine depth of fruit, good soil signature and grip, chewy tannins and fine balance on the long and complex finish. This will need a bit of time in the cellar to soften up its tannins properly, but it is going to be an excellent wine and is a superb value!"
