"Pollux" comes exclusively from the domaine's 35-year old Gamay vines, grown on six small plots in soil rich in flinty clay in the communes of Lhomme, Chahaignes and Marçon. The fruit is left whole without crushing during vinification; pure carbonic maceration is allowed to occur naturally for several months. Only three vintages have been produced of this wine so far: 2009, 2011, and 2013.
Black fruit with somewhat animal and spicy notes.
A Note on Gamay: in this area, this grape is referred to as "Gamay de Bouze", "Gamay Fréaux, "Gamay Noir à jus blanc" and "Gamay Beaujolais".
