The hard facts from the winery:
"The grapes are mainly from our Spätburgunder vineyard in Bad Dürkheim (but also from Steinacker vineyard here in Kallstadt) where you'll find rather light, sandy soil which is perfect, for the Kabinett quality. The vines were planted in 2008. The grapes were handpicked, destemmed and fermented in our big steel fermenter, pressed after 4 to 6 weeks and aged for two years in one new "Doppelstück" (~2400 liter) and some old "Halbstück" (600 liter) barrels. Bottled in July 2016. It's showing some earthy notes with flavors of red currants and is a perfect price value for our all-day-Pinot Noir :-) "
