100% Pigato in the villages of Ortovero and Ranzo. The vines are under 50 years old, planted in limestone-rich soils mixed with white & blue clay, dense with fossils from the Pliocene era. The bulk of the grapes come mainly from the hill of "Garaxin" above the village of Pogli, 210-260 meters above sea level. “Majé” is a word in the Ligurian dialect referring to the stone terraces that are a fixture of the area; these south-facing vineyards are planted on these terraces.
The grapes are destemmed and soft pressed. Due to the heat of the 2015 vintage, maceration was avoided. There's a cold decantation before fermentation at 18°C; aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months on the fine lees.
