100% Cabernet Franc, grown on gravel and pebbles on a clayey-silica subsoil on the foothills of Sonnay; this is from the oldest plot in the vineyard (50 years old). The fruit is hand-harvested. Fermented in concrete vats lasting 15 to 25 days, then aged in three- to five-year-old casks for 12 months.
This is a full-bodied wine, dense but smooth thanks to the gravel content in the soil. Depending on the vintage, this could age a decade or more.
