60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 18% Carignan and 2% Mourvèdre, sourced from 45-year-old vines planted in limestone and clay soils mixed with sandstone on south/south-west facing slopes, east of the village of Cairanne. Traditional fermentation, with 100% de-stemming.
As of this vintage, Cairanne is its own cru (like Vacqueyras) and the wines need not be labelled as "Cote-du-Rhône Villages". Yay Cairanne!
