This Premier Cru lies beneath the Corton Bressandes and next to the Corton Paulands, both Grands Crus. The soil here is a bit out of the ordinary: clayey at the surface and pebbly limestone deeper down, and quite uneven. The parcel faces east, just below mid-slope, providing early ripening conditions.
Notes on the 2014 vintage, from the winery: "A precocious spring led to an early growing cycle. Unfortunately a cold snap set upon the flowering, which took away hopes of good yields. Vines were then hit by hail on the 28th of June the storm fell from Meursault, corton, lowering yet again the quantity of grapes. We harvested from the 18th to 26th september, with half the normal crop though picking at perfect ripeness. The reds have a great aromatic complexity and silky tannins, whites have freshness and a density. The wines are tasting very well at the moment."
