Reinhold Haart - (Archived)

Est. 1382 (oldest estate in Piesport). The historic Haart estate is located at the foot of the legendary Goldtröpfchen vineyard, right along the banks of the Mosel. It is 5ha in size and is planted 100% to Riesling. By far the largest holdings are in the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen: 1.95ha. A huge emphasis is put here on natural winemaking, using native yeast fermentation, no pesticides, no herbicides, hummus fertilizers only, and eco-friendly fungicides. Wines are held back longer than at almost any other estate; thus, 2008s will not be offered until the fall.  The word on 2008: With fresh acids in the mid-8s, no botrytis and splendidly ripe fruit, these are plump, pretty, pink-cheeked cherubs that will charm you.
