Located just south of the River Ebro with altitudes ranging from 1400ft-2300ft above sea level, this region is making itself known for producing some of Spain’s best values. Historically, the region has sold bulk wines, but the wines are rapidly improving in quality. The majority of vineyards are planted to Garnacha which thrives in the warmth and long growing season of this region. The soils are optimum with loam over limestone, some chalk and iron rich soils that provide good drainage.
