Crater is highly regarded as one of the first producers to make serious wines from local varieties. They are located in the small D.O. of Tacoronte-Acentejo on the island of Tenerife and bottle estate grown fruit that undergoes an extensive triage and sorting before fermentation. In many years, the marjority of fruit is sold off to local houses and the small amounts that they keep go into Crater, Magma and now a new white wine made from mostly Listán Blanco with some Malvasía Aromatica. The vineyards are under organic and biodynamic practices.
The winery releases a maximum of 15 barrels a year.
