This project began in 2004 with the selection of the best vineyards in the mountains of Toledo and Sierra de Gredos by two oenologist friends, Alfonso Chacón and Belarmino Fernández. The plots are located within the DO of Mentrida at 750 metres altitude, over siliceous soils, with an abundance of granitic rock. The Garnacha vineyards are an average of 60 years old; all are hand-harvested in small baskets to ensure delicate treatment of the fruit. It is foot-trodden and whole cluster-pressed.
